Devils Punch Bowl on the Oregon Coast
When you search for adventure travel on the Scenic Oregon Coast you won’t be disappointed. We have over 300 hundred miles of beaches to explore. There is something to do no matter what time of year you visit.
Are you interested in historical sites, shipwrecks, ghost stories, whale watching or even kite flying? Well you can do all of that on the coast. We have 11 lighthouses and some of them you can even explore. I love to look at the ways the light keepers had to live and the discomforts they had to put up with on the windy shores.
Are you interested in food? That is one of my favorite subjects to talk about! Well you will find some of the best seafood that is fresh and so tasty. Can you just imagine some fresh caught Dungeness Crab just waiting for you to dip in some garlic butter? Or how about some clam chowder that has even been served at the Smithsonian Institute, which celebrated the “Best American Regional Foods”. Mo’s Clam Chowder is world famous and you sure can’t beat the taste. It is “mouth watering good”.
There are many things to do like the kite flying any time of the year. Kitelines Magazine has said that Lincoln City is one of the best places to fly kites in North America. There are some beautiful beachfront motels that you can sit in and watch the kites. There is nothing like sitting in your room with your favorite beverage in your hand and watching them fly the kites and you don’t even have to be out in the wind.
The other big thing to do on the coast is whale watching. There is nothing like the adrenalin rush you get when you see your first whale breaking the water. It is so fascinating to watch the big mammals as they glide through the water. You can even ride on a charter boat right up next to them and watch them play.
There is so much to do and see on the Oregon Coast and you can find out a lot more information by visiting the Scenic Oregon Coast website.
