Pearly Kee is right. I live not far from Penang, and in the last months I finally started to discover some of the gems of Penang, not in the last place because of Pearly's website. The Thaipusam, which i visited here in February was a so called "kick ass" experience. What a feast it was. You have to read Pearly's inside stories about Thaipusam to get an idea what it is.
As for the Kee Heritage.... you wish you had such a heritage!

Good story. Penang (or Malaysia in general) seems the place to be for great festivals from three different cultures: Chinese, Indian, and Malay.
