Whether you want a straightforward Italian skiing holiday or something even more adventurous I have the perfect place for you.

The Italian region of Piedmont is the mecca for adventure holidays. The Gran Paradiso National Park is Italy's biggest and great for those who like the great outdoors. Here and in the surrounding area you will find some of the best Italian whitewater rafting, excellent hiking and some fantastic climbing.

If mountains are your thing Piedmont is paradise. The best skiing, climbing, cross country skiing, snowboarding and ice climbing in all of Europe can be found here. With some of the highest peaks in Europe Piedmont is a must.

For those less adventure inclined Piedmont offers much more too. Italy's best wine route, some gorgeous medieval towns and 10th century castles and monasteries abound. Then there is the food, absolutely marvelous.
