San Antonio and Ghost Adventures

by Juanita Schulze
(San Antonio)

My husband was born and raised in San Antonio, but I have been here for less than 10 years. I have been doing a lot of research and I have discovered that San Antonio and ghost adventures go hand in hand.

In several of the books I have been reading about San Antonio, ghost stories about downtown are told. So I went downtown to check it all out.

There is a downtown nighttime tour that you can take conducted by Docia Williams who is an author. She takes guests on tours of downtown sites where ghosts are supposed to be. Examples of these sites are a 200 year old home, several museums, and the Alamo.

Even The Institute of Texan Cultures is said to be haunted by its former director who smoked a pipe. Employees and guards who work late at night still report smelling his pipe tobacco. They also find open doors that they close and then are mysteriously reopened.

If visitors to San Antonio want to take one of the downtown ghost tours, keep in mind that these ghost adventures only happen at night...Spooky...
